You may visit the cathedral of Ayios Andreas who is the
patron saint of Patra and one of the biggest cathedrals in Balkans. There,
there are found beautiful byzantine icons and one part of the irritated
on which was a martyr the Apostle Andreas and the saint's head. You can
see also the monastery of Prophet Elias, Pantanassa and the Omblou monastery
that was established in the 14th century. In Patra there is and the famous
distillery "Achaia - Claus" where you can taste wines of its
production. |

Square Ayios Georgios (or 25th Martiou): It's opposite Patra's Ancient Conservatory and it's about the historic square where the Achaean fighters with Paleon Patron Germanos sweared to fight and win "freedom or death". Square Norman: A small square with the statue of Kostis Palamas. Square Olgas (or Ethnikis Antistaseos): Around the square, there are cafeterias that in combination with the rich shade that offer the trees is ideal for relax and freshness in the summer. |
